Search for research opportunities as a high school student and you will find dozens of online programmes, each with its own model and promise. Comparing them is harder than it should be, because most descriptions use the same words: mentorship, rigour, publication, impact.

One-to-One Research Mentorships

AI-Focused Programmes
Inspirit AI and Veritas AI specialise in artificial intelligence. Both combine a taught curriculum - machine learning foundations, coding practice - with a mentored project, drawing mentors from universities such as Stanford and Harvard. Veritas leans towards research projects; Inspirit leans towards structured teaching.
These suit students whose main interest is AI itself and who want a curriculum first and a project second. Tuition tends to sit at the very high end.
Business and Entrepreneurship Programmes
LaunchX and the Wharton Global Youth Program focus on business rather than research. LaunchX has students build and launch a real startup; Wharton's online courses teach entrepreneurship and leadership through case work and pitch competitions. The output is a venture or a course certificate rather than a research paper.
These suit students who want to build something commercial, or to test whether business school appeals, more than they want to conduct research.
